Remembering IGC

The International Grassland Congress is rich in history and tradition dating back to 1927.  In hope of preserving information about the conference for generations to come, this page will serve as an archive for historical documents and photographs from previous Congresses.

Additional historical pictures about the IGC can be found in

The History of the International Grassland Congress – 1927 to 2020.

Remembering Geheimrat, Professor, Doctor of Philosophy, Friedrich Wilhelm August Karl Falke

This document remembers the life and accomplishment of Friedrich Wilhelm August Karl Falke, the founder of the International Grassland Congress.  Falke had global impact on stimulating awareness of the importance of our grasslands for food security for an ever-increasing population. He created an international forum where results of scientific study, observations and experiences could be exchanged and ideas and solutions to commonly recognized but unsolved problems could be generated.
